What a busy day!

We spent most of the day painting my older daughter's room, which will be done after one last coat of paint when I get off the computer. Her room is painted with 5 different colors, that is why it took so long!

I did find some time to do some sewing. I made this dish soap apron from Eagles fabric. I am not an Eagles fan (sorry Eagles fans!), so this will be going to a home of a good friend that is a huge Eagles fan. My mother is also an Eagles fan so I will make her one. I made myself a butterfly one, but don't have the right color bais tape to finish it. I gave an entire bag of bais tape away last year thinking I would never use it...oh well, still hoping to find one in blue still floating around the house.

Snowflakes progress picture

Hello crafty friends

I'm still working on getting my cross stitch program to work, I will get that done!

I got a wonderful gift from a very talented friend and I wanted to share a few pictures with you.

She made each of my girls a pair of earrings, here is a picture of the ones she made for my younger DD...

She also made each of my girls and myself a beautiful angel for our birthday month. The green one is for my younger DD for the month of May and the other angel is for me for the month of June....

Koala bookmark I made for Bree, this was challenging so I'm not sure I will make another one or not

Inspiring quote

I have seen many quotes over the years that have inspired me, today I saw another one...

Sometimes Courage Is The Quiet Voice at the end of the day saying,
“I will try again tomorrow.”
- mary anne radmacher

Made some good progress on my "Snowflakes" piece, will have to post a picture later!

Today I wanted to share with you a good healthy hashbrown recipe. I'm on a new meal plan and it is very strict. I don't care for "dry" food, so I am a person who usually covers my potatoes with margarine and cheese. Well margarine and cheese are now no-nos! Take a frying pan, spray it with cooking spray, I use Olive Oil alcohol-free cooking spray. Years ago Tupperware had a bottle you could buy that would turn any oil into a spray, not sure if they still sell it. Anyway, after you spray it, place it on the stove and heat it a little before adding mashed up potatoes sprinkled with salt and pepper (I usually boil whole potatoes the night before and mash 8oz into a plastic bag so it is ready for breakfast)cook on medium heat until the bottoms are a beautiful crispy brown color and then spray the top with some cooking spray before flipping them over and browning the other side. When they are at your desire level of crispiness remove, eat, and enjoy!

Enjoy your weekend!

Small issues with the computer

I have the free pattern finished, I just can't post it yet. I purchased the program when I was using my old computer, I reinstalled it and created the pattern on this "new to me" computer...sadly I don't know where my code is so that it knows I did pay for it. So until I find that, I won't be able to share the pattern with you, but I will continue to work on that!

Last week I cleaned out my craft closet. This holds supplies for all the different crafts I do... plastic canvas, cross stitch, felt projects, beads, and other various materials. While cleaning it out I discovered that my knitting needles were taking up too much space. "How can this be?" you ask. Well I had them in a plastic tub and it just wasn't working anymore. I pulled them all out of the tub, but had no idea what to do with them. Then it occured to me that I had a cross stitch fabric tube that was empty, so I put all my knitting needles in there and sure enough it worked great. So now they take up very little space and are still all together!

I'm back!

Sorry I have been away so long, life has taken over! I am in the process of uploading my pictures to list my first item of the new year in my Etsy Shop! If this one sells I will be making more like it. It is a fabric gift bag that is fully lined using beautiful high quality fabric.

Please check the blog later for a free cross stitch pattern and an item for storing knitting needles!
